Scott County Growth
Scott County was the fastest-growing county in Minnesota and one of the fastest growing counties in the United States during the last decade. From 2010 to 2014, the County’s population increased by 6.8 percent. In 2014, the County’s estimated population was 139,672.
The Twin Cities metropolitan area (shown in green on the map) is expected to continue growing in the future. Scott County is projected to reach a population of 209,970 residents by 2040. With growth comes a multitude of issues, which local officials must manage in order to maintain the desirability of Scott County communities.
