Winter Jackets: Winter Reading for Adults
Winter goes a lot faster with a good book. Here’s a chance for adults to have fun with a reading program just for them. Read books, write reviews and enter prize drawings. New experiences await you at an array of Twin Cities cultural destinations! Check out a Museum Adventure Pass using your valid  library card at any metropolitan area library location.

Homework Rescue Online Tutoring
K-12 students and adult learners can get free help with homework and related skills online!   It's available (in English or Español) from 1-11 pm seven days a week (except for holiday closings- click here for the list of dates they are closed, updated 2/4/10).  You can use it in the library or sign on from home (with your Scott Co. Library card). 

 

  Ahora Disponible: Ayuda individualizada con la tarea por tutores en línea- al rescate de la tarea tutoría en línea por grados 3 al 12, 7 días a la semana (excepto festivos), 1-11 pm.  Disponible en inglés y español- gratis.  Cubre todas las asignaturas principales.  Conéctese en cualquier biblioteca pública metropolitana o desde cualquier otra computadora usando su tarjeta  de la biblioteca.

Database News

We've just added a new language resource- Byki.  It currently has around 80 languages including six language specific English as a Second Language programs.  Sign on to our online resources to try it out.



For the sports lover in you, try our new database, Great Athletes from Salem Press.  The database contains over 1400 sports biographies.  Sign on to the resources to see more.   (FYI, you can take a quiz on some of the people on their poster here)


Take a walk on the wild side with our new animal encyclopedia database-
Get on the list of resources with your library card and PIN/password and select 'Grzimek's Animal Life' from the list once you sign on.


To find some interesting titles to read for the Winter Jackets reading program, try the
database for readalikes, award winners, book club recommendations and more.
